Learning the history on how the first car looked like up to the modern car that we now have would be interesting. The modern automobile is comfortable, classic and with has a nice appearance. There are various models depending on the cost and comfort you need. Thus here is the history of how the first car has evolved to the modern car we have today.
The first automobile dated back in 1769. The automobiles that were being used in the past looked different from the modern cars. They seemed more of the carriages that are pulled by horses. Then, people thought that it would be better to have carriages that were not being pulled by horses. That’s when they discovered that they could add engine to the carriages. The carriages were now referred to as horseless carriages but did not take off as expected.
An internal engine that consumed petrol energy was invented in 1876 by a German called Nikolas Otto. The first time that a usable engine was made was at this time.Later on the engine was tested on experimental cars that used petrol as the main source of fuel.
In 1885, mechanics and engineers worked on the cars that used petrol and made them available to the public. Those cars cannot be compared with the modern cars because they were too slow and they had three wheels only like bicycle wheels.
The first more reliable car was made in 1908. It was called Ford Model T, and it was better to drive this car. The car was available to many people because it was produced in large quantities. Due to the mass production, costs related to production were cut, and therefore the car was cheap making many families buy the car.
The car that became popular for the first time was Volkswagen Beetle. Ferdinand Porsche designed the car in the 1930s, but it was not until 1945 that the car was manufactured and sold. Many people became familiar with the car because it was affordable, strong and could not break easily.
Many countries all over the world in the 1950s did have disposable income, and they could show their wealth by purchasing big cars and then customize them. Some of the car parts that were used were such as electronic windows, fins, tail lights and they became popular to many people. Unluckily, the large cars used a lot of petrol although it was affordable since people had money.
In the 1960s, cars begun to be popular with someone like James Bond driving Aston Martin. But, it was not until the 1980s when many people in the world started having cars.
